It's probably not the type of "how-to" video most New Yorkers expected would be produced by state government during the Covid-19 pandemic.

The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation has released a video designed to provide guidance to outdoor lovers who "need to go."

The agency on Monday posted a nearly two-minute-long video entitled "How to Poop in the Woods."

The YouTube description notes: "Relieving yourself before you get on the trail is one of the best ways to Leave No Trace in the woods, but when nature calls, you'll want to answer."

The video aims to help the viewer "learn how to go to the bathroom in the wilderness without creating a disturbance or leaving behind a mess."

DEC Commissioner Basil Seggos retweeted the video Tuesday with the message: "We bring you life lessons here at @NYSDEC."
