Officials with the Town of Vestal are advising hundreds of customers of the Town Water System to boil all water for drinking and cooking purposes until further notice.

Officials say on Sunday, August 29, it was determined that distribution pipes and mains lost pressure and that increases the chances of harmful microbes entering the system.

The advisory was released shortly before 10:30 a.m.

The following areas are affected by the order:

Wildwood Lane, Madison Drive, West Marshall Drive, East Marshall Drive, Salem Drive, Amherst Avenue, Radcliffe Boulevard, Baylor Drive, Salem Drive, Taylor Drive, Case Drive, Pratt Drive, Dickinson Drive, 800 to 1221 Murray Hill Road, 4409 to 4295 Fuller Hollow Road, 1301 to 1329 Campus Drive, Hartwick Lane, 4700 to 4732 Deerfield Place, Bay Street, Elsmere Place, Marguerite Court, and 23 to 28 Dellwood Road.

Residents in those areas are being told "DO NOT DRINK THE WATER WITHOUT BOILING IT FIRST." Bring all water to a boil and boil for one minute. Let it cool before using or used bottled water for drinking, making ice, brushing teeth, washing dishes and food preparation.
