U.E. Teachers Making Face Shields for Local Emergency Crews

While all the schools in our area are adapting to online learning, teachers at Union-Endicott High School are working together to build face shields for healthcare workers and emergency responders using 3D printers.

According to WBNG, the teachers found instructions on the Budman Industries website and were allowed to bring the 3D printers from the school home to build the shields for local healthcare workers and first responders. The report states that they are in the process of making 50 face shields and plan to make at least another 50.

The U.E. teachers aren't the only ones working on this project. Some students that are members of the Tiger Tronics Club are also building the 3D masks while being home from school.

The Masks will be sent to the Oakdale Mall where they will be donated to local EMS Crews.

This isn't the first story of local professionals using 3D printers to help build necessities in the fight against Covid-19. Last week we learned about a local dentist named Dr.. Sonny Spera from the Progressive Dental Group who is using 3D printers to make N95 masks to be distributed to hospitals throughout the Binghamton area.
