Nurses, physicians, practitioners, assistants and others have all stepped forward as the state pushes to increase hospital capacity.

The Governor says the toll on the mental health of New Yorkers is also being addressed as thousands of professionals are offering free services. Residents can call 1-844-863-9314.

Cuomo says 6,000 mental health volunteers have come forward to offer their services as residents become increasingly stressed by the daily news and the challenges of being confined at home.

The Governor is also praising all the other health professionals including students, retired doctors and nurses and those working for other fields like insurance, who are volunteering to take care of all the additional hospital beds that are being activated to deal with the surge in coronavirus patients in New York.
