Judge William Pelella presides over the Binghamton Adult Drug Treatment Court. He said 13 people will be recognized in Tuesday's ceremony.

Pelella said that's the highest number of people to participate in a graduation event since the local drug court program was launched in 2002.

The initiative provides qualified addicted offenders with a comprehensive drug treatment program under intensive judicial supervision. It includes educational and vocational training.

Judge John Hillis oversaw the Binghamton drug court when it began. Pelella has been in charge of the program since 2005.

The graduation ceremony is to start at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Forum. Administrative Judge Molly Fitzgerald and Broome County Executive Jason Garnar are the scheduled speakers.
