Binghamton police have arrested two suspects in connection with an armed robbery at the Price Chopper store on the city's West Side.

The heist at 10 Glenwood Avenue was reported around 11:05 p.m. Monday.

Authorities said two teenagers entered the store with one displaying what appeared to be a black handgun to a woman employee. The suspects left the store with some fireworks taken from a display.

Detective Captain John Ryan said police located the two suspects about an hour later. They were at a residence at 49 Orton Avenue, about two blocks from the store.

Ryan said the suspects have been charged with first-degree robbery. He said 18-year-old Andrew Daniels Jr., who lives at the Orton Avenue home, was arraigned in Binghamton City Court. He was being held at Broome County Jail without bail.

The other suspect is a 14-year-old boy, whose name was not released. His case will be handled by family court.
