There's no doubt about it, times have been tough for most of us for the better part of a year.

Sadly, we've seen many friends, family and acquaintances lose their jobs thanks to the Coronavirus pandemic. When big corporations, put their money where their mouth is there's reason to celebrate.

On Monday, January 25th, Target announced that they will spend another  "$200 million on another round of employee bonuses" according to CNBC.

CNBC explains that hourly employees of Target will receive a $500 bonus and employees who hold store director and leadership positions will receive bonuses anywhere from $1,000 to $2,000.

We all know online spending went through the roof during the COVID-19 pandemic, Target saw a huge uptick in sales and watched as their Curbside Pick Up option gained popularity. That trend continued into this years holiday season, CNBC reports the online shopping was "boosting the company’s comparable sales 17.2%, while its e-commerce sales more than doubled in November and December."

Another fun fact, this isn't the first time during the pandemic that Target has provided bonuses for their employees. These bonuses are the 5th installment of additional pay to be provided to Target employees in the past year.

It's also reported that Target has an "extended pandemic-related benefits" program for employees. Benefits include "pay for those who need to quarantine or stay home from illness, access to virtual doctor visits and free backup care for employees’ family members."
