Binghamton University President Doctor Harvey Stenger issued an update statement March 10 on plans to deal with the evolving situation involving COVID-19.

Stenger says B.U. had developed “markers” to determine when to implement aspects of its online learning formulas.

He says the first marker is when there is one confirmed case in Broome County but not on campus.  At that point faculty would be encouraged to move to an online format but business on campus would be conducted as normal.

Stenger says the second marker is when there is a case confirmed in the B.U. community or there is a significant increase in cases in the county. At that point, courses would be moved online and students given the option to leave campus.

The final marker would be met if the Governor take action to suspend physical operations on campus.
