Taylor Swift Plays Red-Headed Temptress in Sugarland’s ‘Babe’ (VIDEO)
Taylor Swift a seductress in red in Sugarland's new music video.
In the Anthony Mandler-directed project for the country duo's latest betrayal tune "Babe," the 28-year-old pop star plays a red-headed woman looking to wreck a marriage.
Inspired by Mad Men, the visuals depict Sugarland's Jennifer Nettles' idyllic suburban life and happy marriage coming to an end after she catches her husband (portrayed by Brendan Roth) fooling around with another woman (played by Swift). The moment inspires Nettles to liberate herself from her cheating spouse, and ultimately leaves Swift's persona crying on the kitchen floor as her lover forsakes her as well.

Speaking of the concept of the 1960s-themed video for the song, which was co-written by the "Delicate" artist and Train's Pat Monahan, Nettles told People the temptress part was actually Swift's idea.
"She actually reached out to us and said, ‘I’ve got a great idea for the video,’ and she wrote the treatment," the 43-year-old explained to the pub at the 2018 Country Music Awards, with bandmate Kristian Bush adding, "And we looked at it and said, 'Oh my gosh, this is awesome."
"Babe" appears on Sugarland's newly-released album Bigger, though it was originally slated to feature on Swift's 2012 record Red but didn't make the final cut.
