The Coronavirus has forced the cancellation of many summertime festivities and festivals in the Binghamton area. The Saint Anthony's Italian Feast Days which usually takes place the first week of June at Saint Anthony of Padua Church on Odell Avenue in Endicott, has also been canceled due to the Covid-19 outbreak.

However, you will still be able to get great Italian food and help support the church. Saint Anthony's is having what they're calling “not your average Italian feast days”. The first event will be held next Sunday, June 14th. from noon till 2. They will be hosting a drive through takeout meal.

According to their website, you must pre-order the food by Wednesday June 10th. Choices include pasta with greens and sausage, or pasta with marinara sauce and meatballs, tossed salad, and fresh bread. Both dinners are $10. a piece. Again your order must be in by Wednesday the 10th.

They are also going to be hosting a drive-thru chicken barbecue on Sunday June 28th from noon until 2 pm. Click here to get more information on both of these events.

Every year the St. Anthony Feast Day celebration runs Friday, Saturday, and Sunday at the church grounds. They have a huge tent that features all types of Italian food, live entertainment, and of course the beer tent.

On the other side of the street, behind the church, they have the kids playing area that has games of chance for the little ones. The church basement doubles as a casino during the festival where you could play cards or bet on the big six wheel.

This is another event that Chris and I go to every year to enjoy food with friends while supporting a local church. Each night after the festivities end, I usually help the Boy Scout Troop in Endicott clean the streets each night. The Boy Scouts get a donation from the church for taking care of the garbage and cleaning up every night of the festival, and for helping to take everything down Sunday afternoon after the festival is over.
