Snow Removal Work Around-the-Clock in Broome, Tioga Counties
An order banning unnecessary travel has been lifted in Broome County as cleanup operations continue following the massive snowstorm.
County Executive Jason Garnar lifted the travel order as of 8 p.m. Sunday.
The Broome County Department of Emergency Services is coordinating cleanup operations with local and state governments.
States of emergency remain in effect in Broome and Tioga counties as government officials urge drivers to exercise caution because many secondary streets and roadways remain snow-covered.
Dozens of dump trucks and pieces of heavy equipment were deployed across the two counties as workers haul away snow from roads and sidewalks.
