Binghamton University freshman point guard Sam Sessoms is this week's America East Freshman of the Week.  It is the third time in the first five weeks of the season that Sessoms has earned the award.  The freshman from Philadelphia averaged 21 points per game and made 50 percent of his shots in two games last week.

Sessoms has been the best performer for the Bearcats over the team's first ten games.  He is currently averaging 18.3 points per game overall which is fourth in America East. He is now ninth in scoring among freshmen nationwide at the Division I level.

Sessoms becomes the first Binghamton Bearcat freshman to capture the conference's Rookie of the Week award three times in the first five weeks of the season. He has also been named the Miller Auto Team Athlete of the Week at BU for this week as well.
