Self-Quarantine Alert after Endwell Store Worker Tests Positive
Broome County health officials are urging some customers of a town of Union business to self-quarantine if they develop coronavirus symptoms.
Public health director Rebecca Kaufman Friday afternoon announced that an employee of Pack & Mail at 214 Kent Avenue in Endwell has tested positive for COVID-19.
Kaufman said people who were in the store on April 10 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. or on April 11 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. should self-quarantine if they have symptoms. Coronavirus symptoms include cough, fever and shortness of breath.
The 14-day incubation period will end on April 25. The employee did not work while symptomatic.
The health department received the positive test result on Thursday.
County Executive Jason Garnar on Friday said a ninth COVID-19 death has occurred in Broome County. He said the patient was a woman in her 80s.
