Saint Patrick’s Day Drunk Driving Crackdown Begins
Area law enforcement offices are sending more patrols out to watch for people having a little too much fun celebrating Saint Patrick’s Day.
A State-wide STOP DWI Crackdown starts March 16 and ends Sunday, March 18 with officers setting up saturation patrols and check points to look for drunk and dangerous drivers.
Revelers are encouraged to celebrate responsibly and to have a plan for getting home safely. People can download the Have a Plan app to find a safe ride at www.stopdwi.org/mobileapp.
The Saint Patrick’s Day crackdown is one of many statewide initiatives through the New York State STOP-DWI Association with additional funding from the Governor’s Traffic Safety Committee.
