Binghamton's Ross Park Zoo is seeking financial support from area residents as it continues to deal with challenges related to the Covid-19 pandemic.

The zoo has established a relief fund in response to the loss of traditional revenue sources over the past year.

Many educational programs like Winter Zoo School, Wild Encounters and the ZooMobile outreach initiative have not been able to operate because of the pandemic. Offseason events such as Courtship Tails also have been canceled, resulting in a loss of revenue.

Zoo representatives are asking people to consider donating to the special fund. Contributions will be used to provide food, care and supplies for the zoo's 175 animals.

Donations may be made at rossparkzoo.org/covidrelief.

The zoo is located on Morgan Road on Binghamton's South Side.
