Memorial Day weekend is here, and while you are enjoying the 3-day weekend off from work or school, please take time to remember what this holiday is all about. It is a day to remember the brave men and women who laid down their lives in service to our country.

Every year, Chris and I go to the Memorial Day Parade in Endicott and then we walk to the Veteran's Memorial Park across the street from the high school. They hold a service there to remember those who made the ultimate sacrifice to protect our freedoms.

The parade and the service combined only lasts for about an hour. And even though it is a small token of gratitude, it reminds me to be thankful for all the blessings we have in this country, thanks in large part to those men and women that we honor on Memorial Day.

There are numerous parades and services throughout Broome County on Memorial Day, Some of which are listed below.
