Reconstructed Floral Avenue Pool in JC Expected to Open Soon
A $200,000 repair and renovation project at a Johnson City park's swimming pool is nearing completion.
Work on the Floral Avenue pool on the village's South Side started about two months ago.
The project is being done by 21st Century Pools & Spas of Vestal.
Mayor Greg Deemie said the village is awaiting final word from the company that they've completed the necessary work. Approval from the Broome County health department will be needed before the facility can open.
A new polyvinyl chloride membrane has been installed at the pool. A ramp was constructed to bring the site in compliance with standards under the Americans with Disabilities Act.
New equipment also was installed in the pump room at the pool.
