Two people have been found dead in a house in a normally-quiet town of Union neighborhood.

State troopers and Broome County sheriff's deputies were sent to the residence at 2907 Hall Street in Endwell around 7 p.m. Wednesday. Police were dispatched to the home to check on the welfare of a resident.

When law enforcement officers arrived, they discovered the bodies of two people inside the residence.

No names have been released by New York State Police investigators.

A news release from the agency indicated there appeared to be no threat to the public.

Members of the Endwell Fire Department assisted police at the scene.
