Broome County residents may have trouble contacting police agencies because of a technical problem affecting the communications center in the town of Dickinson.

The Office of Emergency Services late Thursday afternoon announced there were issues with Binghamton, Johnson City, Endicott and Vestal 10-digit complaint reporting lines.

According to the statement, people should call (607) 778-1911 if their call does not go through using the regular number for their local police department.

The statement indicated that the county's 911 service was working for those who wish to report emergency situations.

There was no indication as to when the technical problems were first observed or when the trouble would be rectified.
