A New York State Parolee is back in jail after Chenango County Sheriff’s Deputies arrested him for allegedly stealing three separate vehicles from three victims using checks with insufficient funds on an account that was closed three years ago.

48 year old Russell Davis of Plymouth is charged with three felony counts of grand larceny, felony scheme to defraud and misdemeanor issuing a bad check for incidents in the village of Sherburne and Town of Plymouth.

Authorities say two of the vehicles were found and returned to the victims but a third vehicle had allegedly been taken by Davis to a scrap yard.

Davis is being held in the Chenango County Jail without bail.

Sheriff’s officials say the investigation is continuing and more arrests are expected.
