One Southern Tier County Achieves Zero New COVID Infections
One Southern Tier county is marking a positive milestone in the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic.
Chenango County May 25 reported no new positive test results for the coronavirus.
There were no additional deaths reported in any of the Southern Tier Counties during their Tuesday updates.
Broome County had ten new cases for a total of 17,981 with 345 deaths, Chenango’s cases remain at 3,455 with 79 dead, Cortland County reported ten new cases for a total of 4,506 for the 5th straight day there has been no report from Delaware County and Tioga County had four new cases for a total of 3,831 and there have been 78 deaths.
Counties in the Northern Tier of Pennsylvania reported no additional deaths this week. New infection rates reports for Bradford, Susquehanna and Wayne Counties were mixed.
Bradford had a drop in the rate of infection. While there had been 126 new cases reported on May 17, Bradford reported 76 new cases May 24. Susquehanna had 52 new cases for the week compared to 46 new cases the previous week and Wayne County also had 52 new cases for the week, two more than the previous week.
