The New York State Department of Corrections and Community Supervision (NYSDOCCS) offers a wide range of careers in numerous fields, such as supervision, guidance, medical, industrial, food service, and many more -- all of which include fantastic benefits and various opportunities for advancement.

NYSDOCCS is currently hiring for the following positions immediately and continuously (Click each link for more basic requirement information and to apply:

Peace Officer -- Peace Officers are responsible for the safety and well-being of individuals at state correctional facilities, work release centers, and drug treatment campuses. Trainees must complete a 12-month training program, which includes attending the Correctional Services Training Academy for a minimum eight-week training program.

Healthcare -- NYSDOCCS is hiring for Nursing, Pharmacy, Professional Medical positions. Medical licensing and experience required specific to the position you're applying to.

Industries -- NYSDOCCS is searching for motor vehicle operators, tractor trailer operators, and tandem tractor trailer operators to transport people, materials, and supplies. Proper NYS driver's license class certification required. NYSDOCCS is also looking for Industrial Training Supervisors to oversee and train incarcerated individuals in various manufacturing and production procedures.

Maintainence and Trades -- NYSDOCCS is looking for skilled individuals to carry out tasks related to maintenance of state-owned buildings and facilities and utilities, along with service and repairs of electronic equipment, motor, and HVAC. Also seeking carpenters, electricians, plumbing specialists, painters, locksmiths, masons, plasterers, and welders.

Teachers & Instructors -- Teachers/Instructors develop lesson plans, instruct ,and evaluate the performance and progress of individuals in the charge of a state agency in academic and commercial subjects.

Food Service -- NYSDOCCS is looking for cooks and food service workers to prepare and serve food at state facilities

Rehabilitation -- NYSDOCCS is looking for individuals to help in the provision of numerous rehabilitation services at New York State operated rehabilitation services. Positions include psychologists, social workers, rehabilitation coordinators and alcohol & substance abuse treatment program assistants.

Clerical -- Office assistants are being sought to perform office and clerical work.
