The casinos are expected to receive their wagering licenses this summer and many have spent months, if not more than a year, preparing for the expansion.

In addition to on-going construction at Tioga Downs that recently involved the opening of a hotel at the resort, the casino has changed the number of slots on the floor to make way for a sports betting area.

Aside from wagering on sporting events like the Super Bowl and World Series at casinos, a measure allowing wagering at sporting venues or on mobile devices that has introduced in the legislature has not been up for a vote.
