The Upper Lisle Road Bridge in the Town of Triangle is still out of commission.

The span, which has been closed since the middle of July was supposed to reopen September 28.  Necessary repairs uncovered by cleaning are pushing back the reopening of the bridge to October 26.

Broome County officials say the steel truss bridge’s paint is peeling, exposing the metal to the elements and rust.

The span is being cleaned, repaired and painted.

Officials say the Otselic River boat launch will continue to be open with access from the west side of the bridge via Upper Lisle/Whitney Point Road.
