People looking for some easy money could make several hundred dollars a month by donating plasma from their blood at a facility opening soon in Endwell.

CSL Plasma plans to operate a collection center on Hooper Road. The facility will be located in space previously occupied by a Volunteers of America thrift store.

Barker Contracting of Arizona has been renovating the site. The remodeling work is scheduled to be completed by the end of the month.

CSL Plasma's website indicates the company pays plasma donors up to 400 dollars a month.

A CSL Plasma representative told the Union town planning board the site renovation work was expected to cost $1.3 million.

The representative said up to 200 donors a day would visit the facility. He said the company expected to eventually employ about 50 people at the site.

CSL utilizes the plasma it collects to manufacture products used for healthcare applications.

The CSL Plasma center will be located next door to the Lourdes Rehabilitation Services office.
