Broome County is reporting new coronavirus positive test results back in the single digits after a brief run of double digit hikes.

The County counted 20 new cases between August 6 and 9 but August 10 said there had been eight positives added for a total of 1,071 since the start of the pandemic.  Broome County has lost 70 residents to COVID-19. 

Chenango County reported fur additional cases from August 7 for a total of 216 positive results for the coronavirus and 7 deaths.  Cortland County is unchanged at 91 positives, Delaware was unchanged at 96 cases and six deaths and Tioga County added one case in the August 10 report to a total of 202 with 25 deaths. 

New York State is reporting its lowest numbers of people in the hospital and in intensive care with COVID-19 since mid-March. The state had 476 new cases for a total of 421,336. Two more New Yorkers’ deaths have been attributed to COVID-19 for a total of 25,204 since the start of the pandemic. 

In Pennsylvania, the Health Department August 10 reported a total 119,453 confirmed and probable cases of the coronavirus. 

Bradford County had one new case for a total of 86 and three deaths. Susquehanna’s case count was unchanged at 214 with 27 deaths and Wayne County reported two new cases for a total of 162 and 9 deaths.
