Speed is being blamed for contributing to a fatal crash in Northeast Pennsylvania February 5.

State Police say 37 year old Jeffrey Wheeler of Windham Township was traveling at a high rate of speed on Cotton Hollow Road at 1:31 p.m. when he lost control.

The pickup truck left the road, hit a culvert, became airborne and hit a tree.  He was not wearing a seatbelt and was ejected from the 2006 Chevrolet Silverado.

Wheeler was pronounced dead at the scene.

Authorities say the investigation is continuing.
