The owners of Kay Jewelers, Jared, and Zale's have announced mass closings as a part of their 2020 financial plans.

Signet Jewelers has announced its plan to close 150 stores in the next few years due to poor sales in malls over the past holiday season. The company says mall traffic is drastically down, and online shopping has impacted their brick and mortar sales.

The closing will help the company focus on products, marketing, and online business.

There is no set date for these closings, but they will impact many stores across New York State.

Kay Jewelers has 64 stores in NYS including one in Johnson City, Jared has 7 locations in NYS, and Zales has 37 locations in NY including a store in Johnson City
