Macklemore & Ryan Lewis have celebrated another milestone in their illustrious career. The Seattle duo's topical song, 'Same Love,' has been certified platinum for 1 million units shipped in the U.S.

Macklemore went on Twitter Wednesday (July 10) and thanked his fans for supporting the song.

"Same Love is officially platinum... That means more to me than any of the other sales. Thank you to all that have supported equality," he wrote.

The effort has become a nationwide ode to marriage equality after the Supreme Court overturned two laws that prohibit same-sex marriage. The court ruled that the Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA) was unconstitutional by a 5-4 vote, which effectively lifted the long-standing ban on gay marriage in California.

The success of 'Same Love' follows behind the pair's five-times platinum achievement of 'Thrift Shop' and the three-time platinum certification for 'Can't Hold Us.' The aforementioned tracks appear on the duo's debut album, 'The Heist,' which is close to reaching platinum status.

Congrats to Macklemore & Ryan Lewis. It looks like nothing can hold them back.
