Lori Loughlin Jokes About Paying For Her Daughter’s Education in Resurfaced Video
Lori Loughlin's past comments are coming back to haunt her.
In a resurfaced video posted to Olivia Jade Giannulli's YouTube account, the actress is heard joking about paying "all this money" for her daughter's education. Um, very awkward considering she's involved in one of 2019's biggest scandals so far. As previously reported, Lori was arrested on March 13 after allegedly paying bribes—totaling $500,000—to get her two children admitted into the University of California.
This video could not have resurfaced at a worse time. Both Lori and Olivia have faced tons of backlash in the wake of the college admissions scandal. Not only did the actress get fired from Fuller House and her Hallmark series When Calls the Heart, but Olivia Jade has been dropped from partnerships with Sephora and TRESemme.
In the clip, which begins around the 5:10-minute mark, a 17-year-old Olivia Jade quizzes her mom about "Slang Terms of 2017," including the "England Is My City" lyric used in YouTube star Jake Paul's "It's Everyday Bro" music video.
“England is NOT a city,” Lori tells her daughter in the footage.
“I know, that’s why it’s so, so, so iconic on YouTube! Well, it’s not iconic at all, it’s just really dumb,” Olivia Jade replies, which prompts Lori to make a joke that didn't exactly age well. "If you would've said, 'England is my city,' I would say, 'Why did I pay all this money for your education?'" she says.
But it doesn't end there because the Full House alum later teased Olivia Jade again when she told her that "clout" is a real word. “Once again, money on that education," she jokes.
