Shortly after Binghamton officials announced they had removed basketball hoops and the nets at the tennis courts to keep people at a distance from each other, Johnson City says it has taken similar action, removing the hoops from basketball goals and the swings from swing sets. Caution tape is wrapped around playground equipment and new signs are posted.

The parks are not even to officially open until Memorial Day.

People visiting a park are advised to be aware if crowds are forming and space is closing to consider choosing another park or coming back at another time.
