Janet Jackson Launches Rhythm Nation Records, Prepares New Album
Janet Jackson may not be as spry and dynamic of a performer as she was in her younger days, but she still commands attention whenever she's in the spotlight. And that's exactly what Ms. Jackson has been doing as of late by revealing she has a forthcoming album on the way and launching a new record label.
The singer has kicked off her own record label, Rhythm Nation Records and will also be courting established acts, as well as rising talent to join her roster.
“Thank you to the talented team at BMG, my new artistic home,” Jackson said in a statement. “The opportunity to be creative in music and every form of entertainment has great potential here.”
BMG CEO Hartwig Masuch showered praise upon the singer, adding, “Janet is not just a supreme artist, she is a unique cultural force whose work resonates around the world. It is an honor that she has chosen BMG to release her long-awaited new album. We look forward to collaborating with her across every platform.”
Fans can expect to hear a new single “hit radio and/or online within 30 days,” according to Radio Facts.
Even without details, the sheer thought of one of the definitive artists of the last 30 years releasing a new album is enough for fans' to welcome the return of Ms. Jackson -- if you're nasty that is.
