$70M Vestal Student Housing Job Continues Despite Snow and Ice
Dozens of construction workers are moving forward on a massive student housing complex being built across the Vestal Parkway from the Binghamton University campus.
New Jersey-based Aptitude Development plans to open the five-story 516-bed building in the middle of next year.
The $70 million project site is on the Parkway at Bunn Hill Road, where the Quality Inn hotel and Fuji San Japanese restaurant had been located for years.

Aptitude acquired the four-and-a-half acre site for $10 million last June. Several homeless families and individuals who were being provided living space by Broome County were moved out of the hotel the previous month.
Demolition crews knocked down the old structure and cleared the site last summer.
Construction work has been proceeding quickly despite the snow and bitter cold weather in recent weeks.
The new "luxury" student housing complex will be marketed as "The Marshall Binghamton."
Jared Hutter of Aptitude Development did not return a call from WNBF News Tuesday seeking comment for this story.
The Parkway project is located two miles away from a larger student residential community now under construction on Bunn Hill Road.
Landmark Properties of Georgia plans to open its 700-bed Retreat at Bunn Hill next summer.
