Construction is about to get underway on another United Health Services project in Johnson City.

A UHS spokesperson said the former Walgreens Pharmacy building at 335 Main Street will be transformed into "a new healthcare destination."

The facility will feature walk-in care, an outpatient lab and imaging services. The complex is scheduled to open in the fall of next year.

The spokesperson said the site is designed to provide an "alternative to the emergency department for minor illnesses and injuries." The site is located across the street from Wilson Medical Center.

The facility will offer "easier access, convenient parking and a more streamlined experience for patients needing lab work, pre-admission testing or imaging."

Construction at the former Walgreens site is expected to begin next week.
