Students to Move Into Vestal’s Retreat at Bunn Hill Next Week
There's a flurry of activity at the soon-to-open Retreat at Bunn Hill student housing community in Vestal.
Major construction work for the 700-bed project south of the Binghamton University campus has been completed.

Dozens of workers remain busy at the 44-acre site between Bunn Hill Road and Jensen Road.

Additional paving and other finishing touches are being made to the property, which now is filled with 161 "cottage-style" dwellings.
A Retreat at Bunn Hill representative told WNBF News Wednesday that move-in day for the first residents remains scheduled for August 14.

It's not known how many of the buildings in the new student community will be occupied for the fall semester at Binghamton University.
The Bunn Hill Road property has been the source of controversy for nearly two decades. Vestal residents fought a different student housing project that had been proposed for the site in 2008.
A protracted legal battle seeking to block the Retreat project was unsuccessful. Landmark Properties acquired the land from the Kradjian family for $6.8 million in 2024.
