Station 45 American Chop House Opens for Holiday Parties
A new restaurant has started operating in the historic Lackawanna Train Station in downtown Binghamton.
Station 45 American Chop House is open for private events. The restaurant occupies the former waiting room and ticketing area on the west end of the Lewis Street building.
Developer Mark Yonaty has owned the property near the city-owned for more than a decade. He began restoration work for the restaurant in 2020.
The train station was constructed in 1900. Yonaty said he worked to maintain the historic integrity of the building as part of the process of preparing the new restaurant.
A political fundraising event and a few parties have been held at Station 45 this month. Several holiday parties are scheduled in the restaurant over the next few weeks.
Yonaty said he's been pleased with the positive reaction from people who've attended the private events.
Lunch and dinner menus are being finalized. Brunch will be offered on Saturdays and Sundays.
Regular operations at the restaurant are expected to start after the holidays. Yonaty expects to open Station 45 for daily dining in early January.
