Saint Agatha Foundation Awards $2.3M For Breast Cancer Care In CNY

On Tuesday, August 4, 2026, the Saint Agatha Foundation announced $2.3 million in grant funding to eight partners in care.

This funding was announced as a record-breaking investment by the Foundation. The funding is aimed at expanding access to high-quality care for breast cancer patients in several New York Counties, including Broome, Chenango, Tioga, Otsego, Cortland, Cayuga, Jefferson, Madison, Oneida, Onondaga, Oswego, and Saint Lawrence.

According to the release, the Saint Agatha Foundation focuses its grantmaking on providing financial assistance to individuals in Central New York facing breast cancer, with a commitment to direct support for breast cancer patients.

This funding will expand support to initiatives that advance breast cancer prevention and early detection.

Capital grants will be provided to several organizations, including the UHS Foundation and the Guthrie Lourdes Hospital in the Binghamton area, and the Cortland Memorial Foundation at Guthrie Cortland Medical Center in Cortland.

Other recipients of the funding include the Mohawk Valley Health System in Utica, Oswego Hospital in Oswego, Rome Health in Rome, Samaritan Medical Center Foundation in Watertown and St. Joseph’s Hospital Health Center in Syracuse.

The Saint Agatha Foundation announcement notes that this funding will be used largely for technology upgrades in each partner’s facilities, to better detect, diagnose, and treat breast cancer with advanced imaging technology, specialized diagnostic imaging, precision surgical navigation tools, and systems for tumor localization and radiation therapy.

The Saint Agatha Foundation partners with 28 public charities to fulfill its mission of providing support, comfort, and care to breast cancer patients across Central New York.
