“Polish Bistro” Expected to Open in Binghamton This Month
A Binghamton man is looking forward to opening a downtown restaurant featuring Polish cuisine in the next few weeks.
The eatery will be called Polish Bistro European Kitchen. Daniel Nowacki has spent the last several months renovating a space on Washington Street for the new restaurant.
Nowacki previously operated a Polish restaurant in leased space in New Jersey. He decided he wanted to locate a business in property he owned.
He spent some time searching for an appropriate spot before he discovered the building at 163 Washington Street, near the main entrance to the MetroCenter.
Nowacki acquired the property last August and move to Binghamton with his family a short time later.
Polish Bistro will operate in space that most recently had been home to Los Amigos, a restaurant that offered Latin cuisine.
The dining area has been completely redesigned and a new kitchen has been set up for the new restaurant. Outdoor seating will be available during warm weather.
Nowacki is looking forward to welcoming guests in what he calls a "cozy" spot that will feel "like a Polish village."
The restaurant will be open for lunch and dinner Wednesday through Sunday.
Nowacki said he's still hiring for Polish Bistro. He hopes to open for business by the end of January.
