Road Rage, Felony DWI, Jail Fight Among 13 Broome County Arrests

A traffic stop in the Village of Johnson City last week led to some of the most serious charges in the Broome County Sheriff's Office's latest weekly arrest report. Anthony Jones, 46, of Syracuse, was charged with two counts of Aggravated DWI, a felony, plus Driving While Intoxicated, Obstructing Governmental Administration, Resisting Arrest, and two counts of Child Endangerment.

Jones' arrest was one of 13 made across the county last week, ranging from road rage to narcotics to a domestic incident that turned violent.

Road Rage Incident in Town of Chenango Leads to Multiple Arrests

A road rage incident in the Town of Chenango adds two more names to the list. Jake E. Felter, 19, of Castle Creek, was charged with Driving While Intoxicated, Operating a Motor Vehicle with a BAC over .08, Reckless Endangerment in the 2nd Degree, Reckless Driving, and several traffic violations.

Dante M. Gage-Phillips, also 19 and from Whitney Point, was charged with Tampering with Physical Evidence, a felony, along with Menacing in the 2nd Degree, Reckless Endangerment in the 2nd Degree, and Reckless Endangerment of Property.

Correctional Facility Incidents Add Two More Names to the List

Two arrests this week came out of the Broome County Correctional Facility itself. Gaven A. Knighton, 28, of Binghamton, was charged with Attempted Assault in the 2nd Degree following a physical altercation there. Robert C. Wilson, Jr., 21, of Binghamton, was charged with Criminal Contempt in the 2nd Degree after an order of protection violation at the facility.

Domestic Incidents Reported in Town of Chenango and Town of Union

The Sheriff's Office also responded to domestic incidents in two towns this week. In the Town of Chenango, Christopher A. Lafever, 63, was charged with Criminal Obstruction of Breathing/Blood Circulation, a Class A Misdemeanor. In the Town of Union, Rebecca G. Petrilli, 52, of Endicott, was charged with Harassment in the 2nd Degree, a violation.

A separate domestic incident in the Town of Dickinson led to charges against Waqar Waheed, 50, who was charged with two counts of Child Endangerment, three counts of Criminal Contempt in the 2nd Degree, and Criminal Mischief in the 4th Degree.

Narcotics Investigations Bring Drug Charges in Binghamton and Dickinson

Drug-related charges showed up in several parts of the county this week. Giovanni O. Olan, 29, of Binghamton, was charged with two counts of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 7th Degree following a narcotics investigation in the city. Shadoe T.M. Warren, 35, also of Binghamton, faced two counts of the same charge plus Criminal Use of Drug Paraphernalia after a traffic stop.

In the Town of Dickinson, Robert W. Rogers, Jr., 62, of Vestal, was charged with DWAI with a prior conviction, a felony, along with Tampering with Physical Evidence, two counts of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 7th Degree, Aggravated Unlicensed Operation, and Reckless Driving.

Additional Charges in Union and a Joint Operation in Endicott

Phenix C. George, 22, of Endicott, was charged with Resisting Arrest and Obstructing Governmental Administration in the 2nd Degree following a warrant execution in the Town of Union. Separately, Lucas J. Rought, 41, of Endicott, was charged with Obstruction of Governmental Administration in the 2nd Degree and Criminal Trespass in the 3rd Degree following a joint operation with the Office of Cannabis Management.
