To all the moms and mother-like figures in our lives, thank you. You gave us the kind of love that never fades and always there. We carry the lessons that you taught us every day/

You Taught Us How to Work Hard and Not Give Up

Nobody works quite as hard as our moms. Whether you were working long hours and keeping the house together, you made it happen. Snowstorm? You still got the kids ready for school. Exhausted? You still made our lunches.

You Made Kindness Look Easy

You were always the one dropping off food when someone was sick or checking up on the neighbor who lived alone. You didn’t do it for your own glory because it’s just who you are. Thanks to you, we learned that being kind is one of the best things you can be.

You Helped Us Laugh Through the Mess

We’ll never forget the way you could find something to make us laugh about, even if things were falling apart. You showed us that life’s a lot better when you can laugh through it. Laughter truly is the best medicine.

Family Came First, No Questions Asked

No matter how busy or tired you were, you made us feel like the most important thing in the world. You came to the games, every concert and every play. You made ordinary days feel special and that kind of love stays with us.

You Knew How to Stretch a Dollar Like a Pro

You made dinners out of whatever was in the fridge, turned hand-me-downs into fashion statements, and managed to throw birthday parties that were magical. We didn’t know how much work that it took until we were grown.

You Were the Fixer of All Things

Broken toy? You were on it. Ripped clothes? You fixed it. You kept everything running, even when it felt like the wheels were coming off. You were the one we looked toward and we still do.

You Taught Us That Outdoors Is the Best Playground

Before there were screens and 100 plus channels on the TV, we knew about walking down to the creek, and running wild in the backyard until the street light came on. You had us play outside, and we’re so glad you did. You helped us to love  fresh air, fireflies, and the kind of fun you can’t buy in a store.

You Made the Little Things Feel Big

Whether it was a handwritten note or a warm towel right out of the dryer those little things made a huge impact. You reminded us that love doesn’t need to be a grand gesture. Most of the time, it’s was the tiny moments, when we needed it, that mattered the most.
