Wegmans Frozen Chicken Nuggets Health Alert: What You Need To Know
A recent public health alert has been issued by the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service concerning Wegmans frozen chicken nuggets sold in New York.
It was discovered that there may be some bone fragments in the packages of frozen, fully cooked Wegmans breaded chicken breast nuggets.
This warning is different from a normal recall because the product is not being sold anymore. The product in the health alert is the 46-ounce plastic package labeled as “Wegmans Family Pack Fully Cooked Breaded Chicken Breast with Rib Meat,” with a best-if-used-by date of August 26, 2025.
To check if you have the recalled product, look for this date on the back of the packaging near the barcode in the lower right corner. These nuggets were made on August 26, 2024, and you may still have some of the product in your freezer.
This health alert affects customers of Wegmans Food Markets in eight states: Delaware, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, Virginia, and Washington, D.C.
After getting complaints from customers about finding bone fragments in the chicken nuggets, the Food Safety and Inspection Service issued a public health alert. The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service says you should not eat these chicken nuggets to protect your health.
