Ever dreamt of hitting the jackpot and becoming a lottery winner? Well, if you're a resident of New York, your chances might just be better than you think!

According to a recent study by Casinos.com, which looked at lottery winners per state along with U.S. Census data, New York ranks as the 17th luckiest state in the nation for scoring lottery wins.

When it comes to states with the highest odds of winning big, Delaware and Maryland steal the show, with an impressive average win rate of 10 winners per 1 million people. That's 281% higher than the national average! Residents in these states seem to have luck on their side when it comes to lottery plays.

On the flip side, states like Wyoming, Utah, North Dakota, Nevada, Mississippi, and Hawaii have been deemed as the underdogs in the lottery game, where scoring a big win might prove to be a bit more challenging. The odds are stacked against residents in these states when it comes to taking home that coveted big prize.

In New York State, there have been a total of 52 big lottery winners, including 12 Powerball champions and 40 Mega Millions victors. With odds of winning the lottery at 2.7 per one million residents and 0.27 per 100,000 residents, it seems like New Yorkers have been on a winning streak.

The world of lotteries is all about taking chances and hoping for that big break. As long as you're playing responsibly and having fun along the way, the excitement of being in the running for a life-changing win is all part of the game. So, keep those lucky charms close, keep playing, and who knows? The next headline-making lottery winner from New York could very well be you!
