A Sweet New Store Is About to Open in Endicott
If you’ve got a soft spot for candy aisles, weird drinks you’ve never seen before, or those treats you haven’t had since you were a kid, there’s a new place in Endicott you’ll probably want to check out.
A new shop called Snack City is getting ready to welcome customers later this month on Washington Avenue, and it sounds like the kind of place where you walk in for “just a minute” and end up wandering around way longer than planned.
The Shop Will Carry Candy, Chips, and Drinks From Around the World
The store plans to stock everything from retro sweets to social media-famous treats people have been hunting down online. According to the owners, shoppers will also find imported chips, international flavors, and more than 160 beverages from around the world. So if you’ve ever watched someone try a soda from Japan or a spicy chip from another country online and thought, “I kinda want to try that,” this may be your chance.

The Owners Wanted to Bring Something Different to the Area
The people behind the business, Lino Stenta and Doug Haughton, say they wanted to create something fun for the community that really doesn’t exist nearby. They may be onto something. Stores built around hard-to-find treats and nostalgic favorites have become incredibly popular because they tap into two things people love: trying something new and reconnecting with something familiar.
Expect More Than Just Shopping Inside
This won’t just be a grab-a-candy-bar-and-leave kind of place. The shop says it plans to feature spicy and sour food challenges, online giveaways, a rotating inventory, and specialty products that change often. That means every visit could feel a little different, which is probably part of the fun.

The Opening Celebration Will Include Local Leaders and Community Members
A public celebration is planned for Saturday, May 30, at 11 a.m., including a ceremonial ribbon cutting. Community members, local supporters, and families from around the Southern Tier are invited to stop by, meet the owners, and take a look around the new business at 113 Washington Avenue.
