
Homes Are Getting More Expensive in These Areas Near Binghamton, New York

Of course, just like anything else, the price of buying a home continues to rise. Stacker.com notes that in December 2024, the typical home value in the United States was just over $358,000, which was 2.6% higher than December 2023.
Stacker.com took a look at a few communities near Binghamton (the Southern Tier of New York), breaking down the typical home value from January 2019 to 2024 that seem to have experienced the fastest-growing prices in the area.
While some areas in the United States have seen prices slow or even decline, there are areas where prices continue to climb.

Here's what some of the results show from a few communities in the Southern Tier according to Stacker.com:
In Waverly, New York the typical home value in January of 2018 was around $95,000. Just over five years later, the average price was just under $153,000.
For Whitney Point, New York, the average value in 2018 was about $110,000. Fast forward five years later, it's just under $178,000 according to Stacker.com.
Looking at Apalachin, New York, $130,000 was the average in 2018, but over five years has risen to around $210,000.
Buying a home in Endicott, New York in 2018, the typical home value was $110,000. In 2024, that average price was just under $178,000.
If you purchased a home in Johnson City and paid the average price at the time, it was around $90,000. Jump to 2024, that average price increased to over $145,000.
Over in Endwell, New York, Stacker.com notes that the average home cost about $125,000 in 2018, and in 2024, the average was just over $198,000.
