But, don't get used to it. According to the National Weather Service at Binghamton, temperatures will drop after Thursday back in the 40s and 30s during the day with nighttime lows mostly in the 20s except for Friday (2/17) when the low temperatures will be in the teens.

The high for today (February 15th) was predicted to be close to 60, depending on where you live, according to the Binghamton National Weather Service. It's a nice break from winter weather for sure. But will it be a high-temperature record-breaker for this date?

On February 15th, 2022, based on NOAA data, the Extreme Weather Watch website noted that the high temperature was 24 degrees and the low was 3 degrees. Quite a difference from this year.

Will today's (February 15th) high temperature go down as the warmest on record for this date? The Extreme Weather Watch shows that the NOAA data lists that the warmest temperature on this date occurred in 1949 with a high of 65 degrees. Compare that with the lowest record for this date - minus 14 degrees in 1943.

The highest daily low for February 15th was 41 degrees in 1954. The average high for this date is 32.5 degrees and the average low is 17.7 degrees. This date has not been a snowy one either. The most snow occurred in 1953 with 8.3 inches.

The average high for February in Binghamton is 32.4 degrees and the lowest average temperature is 17.6 degrees. The warmest day for the month of February was 70 degrees occurring on February 14th, 2017, and the lowest temperature was minus 26 degrees on February 9th, 1934 according to the NOAA data as reported by the Extreme Weather Watch website.
