We have so many places that serve up a great pizza. Your favorite could be New York-style pizza, deep dish, square, or whatever, our area restaurants serve it all up. You may remember, a few months ago, I wrote an article stating that Dave Portnoy should visit and rate a couple of our fabulous pizza restaurants.

Dave Portnoy is known as Dave 'El Presidente' Portnoy. He is the founder of the Barstool Sports website, an internet celebrity, and a blogger, and has an internet show called 'One Bite', where he reviews pizza from around the country.

While he hasn't visited the Southern Tier to review our pizza yet (to our knowledge), he has reviewed a pizza from a much beloved store in the Binghamton area.

That pizza is from Wegman's. Actually, it's a Wegman's Frozen Pizza.

***NOTE: Be aware that this video features NSFW language... If you aren't a fan of crass language, we've summarized his review below

That pizza is from Wegman's. Actually, it's a Wegman's Frozen Pizza. How did it rate? Well, let's take a look at his pros and cons...

Positives

  • Crust was nice and fluffy
  • "Shockingly good"
  • Heftier than most frozen pizzas

Negatives

  • Looks like a loaf of bread going into the oven
  • Took much longer to cook than was on the box

At the end, Portnoy gave the pizza, on a scale of one to ten, an 8.1. Mind you, this was his frozen pizza scale, which is weighted less than a fresh pizza, but still, not bad!

To put this in perspective, this score was his top-rated frozen pizza. He also gave well-known brands much lower scores (Stouffer's a 7.1, Bagel Bites a 6.9, Celeste a 6.4, Tombstone a 3.1, DiGiorno a 2.8).
