Let me start off by saying, you can make fun of me all you want, I don't care. I am comfortable enough in my own manhood to admit I like watching the Peanut's holiday specials.

When I was a kid, all the kids in school looked forward to watching the Peanuts specials for Halloween, as well as Christmas and Thanksgiving. It didn't seem like the holiday was really here until you saw Charlie Brown and his friends on TV.

To this day, if I'm home and one of these specials are on, I will sit down and watch it. For me, it's a 30-minute trip back in time to when I was a kid and life was a lot less complicated. Even though I'm sure I've seen each one of these specials 30 plus times over my life, I still enjoy watching them.

Charles Schulz's classic 'It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown' will air tonight at 8 on ABC. It will run again this coming Sunday at 7 p.m. followed by a bonus cartoon, 'You're Not Elected, Charlie Brown' also on ABC.

The Halloween classic is about all the kids going trick-or-treating. All that is except for Linus who hopes to see the Great Pumpkin in the pumpkin patch. Sally, decides to stay behind with Linus because she likes him and wants to show her support for his crazy fantasy.

I always felt bad for Charlie Brown in that cartoon. All the characters would go trick-or-treating from house to house and then compare what treats they had received in their bag. Everybody got some sort of candy except for Charlie Brown, who always got a rock.

So tonight at 8, I will be in my bar in my basement, with the World Series on one TV, a couple of hockey games on the other TVs, and the main TV with the volume, will be tuned into ABC for my 30 minute trip down memory lane.
