A six-and-a-half-foot-long snake apparently is enjoying some free time on the wild West Side of Binghamton.

According to a post of the Broome County Humane Society's Facebook page, a boa constrictor has "managed to escape her enclosure."

Some information about the missing snake was posted late Tuesday afternoon.

The red-tailed boa constrictor was described as having "a high pink/rainbow tint." The post indicated the snake was "last in the Binghamton West Side area."

The post suggested the boa constrictor may have left home sometime Sunday. It did not identify any specific neighborhoods that should be on the lookout.

Efforts to obtain more details about the missing snake using contact information listed in the Facebook entry were not successful.

The post indicated that the owner of the boa constrictor has "made extra adjustments to her enclosure to prevent this thing from happening in the future."
