If you can't find any hand sanitizer at Hudson Valley stores, maybe try this easy recipe.

If you've been following the news over the last few weeks and months, you've heard about the Coronavirus and the worldwide outbreak that has been reported. Anytime the fear of getting sick with something like this is as high as it is today, a lot of stores start to see certain things disappear from store shelves.

One of the things that have become hard to find is hand sanitizer and after a quick trip to the store, I noticed that nobody has any. So like with most things, if I can't find, why not try to make it myself..LOL!

After searching around, I found a really easy recipe to make my own hand sanitizer. According to News 10, all you need is some Aloe Vera gel, 91% or higher rubbing alcohol, a measuring cup, a wire whisk and some of those small travel size bottles.

Get them all together and take about 3/4 of a cup of the rubbing alcohol and add 1/4 cup of the Aloe Vera and mix well with the whisk. Once it's all mixed up, pour the mixture into the travel bottles and it's ready to use.

Yes, hand sanitizer is one way to kill germs but remember, the Center for Disease Control has said that the best way to not spread germs is to use soap and water to wash your hands but if all you have is hand sanitizer, make sure you check the label to make sure it has at least 60% alcohol in it to be effective.
