A little neighborhood celebration is ready to step off as a full-blown Saint Patrick’s Day Parade March 10.

Hillcrest is holding its 7th annual community parade that has grown from just a procession of cars and neighbors to over 30 floats, a half dozen fire departments, dignitaries and community groups.  Marchers gather at noon at American Legion Post 1194 on the West Service Road. The parade starts at 1 p.m.

People attending are asked to donate new socks and underwear for US for Kids. A gift card donated by Olum’s will be awarded for the biggest donation.

Organizers say t-shirts are being sold by the Hillcrest Community Association.
